Full cycle Bookkeeper and Tax Accountant

Our company is currently searching for a detail-oriented and qualified bookkeeper / tax accountant to prepare personal and corporate tax returns, adjustments as required, and communicate directly with CRA. As a full cycle Bookkeeper / tax Accountant, your chief goal will be to prepare audit proof tax returns, recommend effective tax strategies that comply with laws and regulations of CRA, and be an advocate for our clients.  Your responsibilities will include bookkeeping for different clients in different industries, completing and filing tax returns, keeping abreast of the ever changing federal and provincial tax laws, analyzing tax regulations, monitoring industry trends, and providing up to date information to post on the company website. To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will enjoy continuing education in the tax field, attending workshops, taking online courses, etc.  You will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting procedures and time management skills, as you’ll have to ensure our company meets strict deadlines. In addition to being an excellent communicator, our ideal candidate will also demonstrate keen attention to detail with excellent mathematical skills.

Full cycle Bookkeeper and Tax Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file T1 and T2 tax returns, payments, necessary paperwork, and reports

  • Monthly end cut offs, GST / PST / Payroll remittance

  • Manage and maintain the company’s tax database

  • Ensure you comply with regulations by forwarding required information to federal, state, and local authorities

  • Offer support and guidance during audits

  • Evaluate tax regulations and suggest policies that diminish tax burden

  • Keep track of industry trends and changes related to taxes

  • Prepare accurate quarterly and annual tax reports



  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a  Bookkeeper and/or Tax Accountant or similar role

  • Must have knowledge of Canadian Tax regulations

  • Good understanding of MS Office and accounting software

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping processes

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills 

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent time management skills including advanced multitasking and task priority assessment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to resolve conflicts in a positive and respectful manner
